Seafood Platter Supreme, Mangonui Style

October 4 - October 28

Remarkable Cafe & Seafood Restaurant

Starting with the King of all seafood, the Crayfish. I/2 Cray cooked with a hint of butter and subtle seasoning, sourced from Tane Moana, Totara North.

Next we offer ½ dozen Freshly Shucked Oysters served in their natural state, provided by Paroa Bay Ovsters in Kawakawa and paired beautifully with the house-made Horopito sauce and a squeeze of lemon.

Now we are indulging in smoked mussels, sweet chilli and garlic butter coming from The Kutai Guy further north in Houhora.

Continuing with the far norths freshest produce we have our Market Fish, straight off the boat and supplied by Macnicol Fishing here at Mangonui which we use for our Ceviche and is paired with our Thai spicy sauce which includes garlic, shallots, chilli, coriander & fish sauce, or pair with our house-made wasabi mayo.

There is also a place on any Seafood platter for Garlic Prawns cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce.

As a vegetarian option we have made some fresh rice paper rolls, filled with locally sourced lettuce, carrots, cucumber and noodles.

A side of hot chips is added as our deep fried option with garlic aioli to complement the simple chip.

To complete your dining experience  we are pairing our platter with a bottle of Marsden Estate award winning Black Rock Chardonnay, with its distinctive oaky undertones to beautifully enrich these flavours.
