Kaipara Shark and Sweet Tatties paired with house-made lemon fizz

From sea to shore to your plate – that’s the journey at Matich’s Fish Shop. A Te Tai Tokerau favourite since 1932, we’ve proudly served fresh, old-school fish and chips to our community and visitors.

Crispy Northland beer-battered shark straight from the Kaipara harbour caught by 4^th generation fishermen from Ruawai. Paired with exclusively cut Field Co kumara chips grown and processed here in Takiwira, seasoned with Northland’s Taipa Furikake salt. Wrapped in newsprint as per tradition. Accompanied with our house-made ranch dressing inspired by a visit to Ralph’s Eatery in the Big Smoke, a slice of local Moa Bakery white loaf and butter, finished with a Kaipara grown tomato and lemon wedge.

Paired with Matich’s house-made lemon fizz with hand squeezed homegrown Kaipara lemons donated by our generous community. Taipa Sparkling Water gives some fizz, sweetened with Takiwira’s Natures Buzz Manuka Honey. Served in retro
